Undergraduate Medical Students

The popular CIRSE Student Programme acts as an introduction to the dynamic, innovative and rapidly growing field of interventional radiology by welcoming undergraduate European medical students to attend the CIRSE Annual Congresses free of charge.  

When attending the CIRSE Student Programme, students will be guided through their congress experience, allowing for maximal insight into the medical field as well as opportunities to connect with peers and IR professionals from around Europe. Students will have access to all scientific sessions (including a list of student recommended sessions), online content, industry exhibition, a student lounge, free lunch, as well as several student-exclusive workshops and events.

Registration & Student Travel Grants

Undergraduate European medical students can register for free online (if you are an international medical student please contact students@cirse.org for registration options). Students who have an EU/EFTA citizenship and study at a university in an EU/EFTA country are eligible to be awarded a 200€ Travel Grant for CIRSE 2018. Those who qualify for a Travel Grant will automatically be considered upon completion of congress registration while grants are still available.

Party the night away! Students will have the opportunity to socialise with new-found friends and enjoy a night out in Lisbon.


Students’ Quiz

Tuesday, September 25; 11:00-13:00

Tuesday afternoon will feature the last highlight of the Student Programme – the Students’ Quiz. With questions based off of student recommended congress sessions, this popular event will allow students to compete and win prizes in a fun, team-based, pub-style IR quiz.


Hands-on Device Training, Simulation Sessions & Industry Learning Centres

Students will experience IR procedures and devices first-hand in these popular, student-only workshops.
