Lower limb embolization for MSK conditions: From hip to plantar fasciitis

October 24, 2024, 17:00-18:00 CEST

Lower limb embolization for musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions represents a rapidly advancing field, with new research and clinical data emerging regularly. This webinar aims to deliver an extensive review of the anatomical considerations, technical approaches, and the current literature regarding the management of lower limb joint and tendon pathologies through arterial embolization. Participants will gain insights into the latest updates on knee embolization, as well as other less commonly addressed conditions such as trochanteritis, hip osteoarthritis, patellar and Achilles tendon insertion tendinopathies, and plantar fasciitis. The session will feature detailed discussions on the indications, techniques, and outcomes associated with these procedures. Additionally, attendees will benefit from the opportunity to engage directly with leading experts in the field, allowing for an interactive learning experience.

Learning objectives

The learning objectives include:

  1. Reviewing the scientific rationale for MSK embolization and the relevant scientific literature to inform clinical practice.
  2. Gaining a complete knowledge of the lower limb anatomy that is relevant to performing safe and effective MSK embolization.
  3. Learning about the ideal patient for GAE to understand the technical aspects of the procedure from case review and patient follow-up.
  4. Learning about the ideal patient for patients with insertional tendinopathy to understand the technical aspects of the procedure from case review and patient follow-up.
  5. Learning about the ideal patient for patients with plantar fasciitis/Achilles tendinopathy, to understand the technical aspects of the procedure from case review, and patient follow-up.
