Patient Information Task Force

Interventional radiology has grown exponentially over the past few decades; in spite of this, many patients have never heard of IR and remain unaware of the benefits that minimally invasive procedures. Increasing public awareness of IR is essential to the future of the field.

CIRSE’s Patient Information task force is in charge of the creation and maintenance of CIRSE’s patient information offerings. A set of twelve leaflets featuring some of the most commonly performed minimally invasive procedures was released in 2020. These leaflets are now available in 19 languages, with more translations underway.

The task force has recently completed a review of the patient information available on cirse.org and implemented improvements such as a search function and translation widgets for the patient information pages. They are currently working on the production of a new set of patient information leaflets.
